When do you use a punch skirt flipping for bass in summer? In this video I head to the lake to flip for summer bass and test out punch skirts versus standard soft plastic lures. A punch skirt is like an ultra weedless jig that you can flip into heavy cover and vegetation. I have a few fishing tips and techniques for using them for bass which I share in the video – but in general this lure presentation mimics bream or bluegill and can catch some big bass in late summer. I like to use either a compact soft plastic crawfish lure or a smaller creature lure, a straight shank hook, a quick change punch skirt, and a tungsten weight. It’s your standard punching rig but with a little more flair.
