What do you think this Stalking Striped Bass on Shallow Flats + Mud Albacore video?
A cluster of videos where I first attempted to catch albies from a shallow beach, there was no albie life but I did find one small keeper bass on a school of bait, otherwise it was pretty dead so I moved with the intention of striper fishing some flats.. I saw albies blowing up along the way so stopped and dropped the bread in the basket a few times with one hookup/lost fish at my feet, after that got no other bites and then ran into a friend.. we talked for awhile about how the fishing was slow and that we both had intentions of sight fishing for stripers that afternoon, he volunteered to grab his boat and take it to some flats which is exactly what we did.. It started out slow, finding only an occasional rat, but eventually started seeing some solid fish, we decided to anchor up and hop out and try to stalk the bass by foot, which immediately produced a nice but malnourished Bass. After that we found a few small pods of bass feeding on the flats and caught a few more small ones. The stripers all came on a weightless albie snack slow twitched in 1-3′ of water. That bite slowed down so we hopped back in the boat and found some more rats but at that point in this video I think you get the point… that was all for this day.
